RECIPE – 4 servings (the pic shows "8" servings 🙂 – found at!

– 400 grams of firm tofu, cut into longish pieces
– 1 chopped onion
– Half a red pepper, diced
– 150 grams of mushrooms, sliced (can be replaced with zucchini)
– 2 tea spoons of paprika powder
– 2-3 table spoons of wheat flour
– 0.5 liters of soy milk OR 0.3 liters of soy milk and 0.2 liters of soy cream (any plant milk works, of course! 🙂
– 2 table spoons of tomato purée… or ketchup
– 1 vegetable stock cube
– A wee bit of cayenne pepper

Tofu marinade:
– Half a table spoon of tomato purée……… or ketchup
– 2 table spoons of soy sauce
– … another table spoon of ketchup
– 3 table spoons of water (I ended up using about twice the amount, to cover the tofu better)
– 0.5 tea spoons of smoke… flavor… stuff… I used a little Chipotle Tabasco

– Mix the marinade ingredients and marinate the tofu pieces for 24 hours.
– Let the marinade run off.
– Fry the tofu in a bit of oil.
– Put away the tofu and fry onions, peppers and mushrooms in oil.
– Add paprika powder and stir.
– Stir the flour into a bit of cold water.
– Add soy milk, tomato purée, stock cube and cayenne to the frying vegetables.
– Bring it to a boil and slowly add the flour/water mix.
– When it boils, add soy cream if you’re using that.
– Stir.
– Carefully add the tofu.
– Let the tofu warm up and add salt (and a pinch of sugar) to taste. Keep in mind that some of the ingredients are already quite salty. And I hear you can learn to love food with less salt than we tend to use!
